  • Responses will be treated confidentially and stored securely in accordance with UK data protection legislation.

We will not identify individual participants in any reports, publications or presentations arising from this research. Findings will be analysed and reported in aggregate form, meaning individual responses cannot be identified.

Only authorised members of the research team will have access to the survey data. Data will be stored securely and retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes of this research and any associated analysis and reporting.

  • It will take roughly 20 minutes to complete.

  • The survey was developed by KeshetUK in partnership with independent social researcher Dr Jessi Parrott. Questions cover a range of topics, including sense of belonging, experiences within Jewish community spaces and within wider LGBT+ spaces, antisemitism and discrimination, wellbeing and mental health, community support and LGBT+ representation in the Jewish community.

  • The Survey was funded by Jewish LGBTQ+ Donor Network which is part of The Natan Fund alongside a generous private donor. Funds covered the hiring of an independent social researcher, Dr Jessi Parrott, communications support, survey software and KeshetUK staff time.

  • The survey will close at 23:59 on 2nd November 2026. However, we may extend the closing date if we feel it is necessary.

  • The experiences of LGBT+ Jews in the UK are changing, but there is currently no national data to help us understand what those changes mean in practice.

In recent years, KeshetUK has heard increasing reports from LGBT+ Jews who feel caught between different parts of their identity. Alongside the challenges that some continue to face within Jewish communal spaces, we are also hearing concerns about exclusion, hostility and discomfort within wider LGBT+ spaces because of their Jewish identity.

  • The findings could help inform future policy, programmes and support services for LGBT+ Jews across the UK.

We intend to use the results to:

    • Inform communal leaders and organisations

    • Improve inclusion policies and practices

    • Advocate for the needs of LGBT+ Jews with decision-makers

    • Support schools, youth movements, synagogues and communal organisations to better meet community needs

    • Engage government bodies and public institutions on issues affecting LGBT+ Jews

    • Strengthen understanding of the intersection between Jewish and LGBT+ identities

    •

The survey findings will be published in a national report and shared widely with community
    partners and stakeholders.

  • This survey can only succeed if it reaches a broad and diverse cross-section of LGBT+ Jews across the UK.
By sharing the survey through your networks, you are helping to ensure that the findings accurately reflect the diversity of experiences within our community. The stronger the response rate, the stronger the evidence base will be for creating meaningful change.
