Schools
“Our children need to know that at school, at home and in the community, they will be loved and protected regardless of their sexuality or gender identity.”
– Chief Sir Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis
Our work with Schools
KeshetUK works with pupils, teachers and other school staff members to ensure that Jewish schools are places where all young people can flourish and enjoy learning in an environment that enhances their wellbeing and supports their identity development.
Creating a space where people feel able to learn and ask the questions they have is incredibly important to us at KeshetUK. We work very hard to create educational spaces that are open and non-judgemental, enabling participants to ask questions and have discussions in a space facilitated by experienced and knowledgeable individuals.
We can also offer confidential spaces for discussions, learning and other educational support. We do not need to advertise or share that we have run a session for your organisation or team.
KeshetUK meets you and your school wherever you are, we work with you to create meaningful assemblies and workshops where young people can learn and ask the questions they need to ask in an open and non-judgmental way. All of our work is bespoke for the individual school with which we are working. We understand that each school will have its own ethos and values, and we work alongside school staff to ensure our content is in line with this. Contact us in confidence to find out more or book a session.
KeshetUK’s training for staff in schools aims to create cultures where LGBT+ Jewish people feel valued and respected. We do this through delivering inclusion training for teachers and support staff where questions can be asked in an honest, open way. Based on over a decade of experience working in Jewish schools, we tailor our approach to your specific needs and work with you to create training that works for your staff. Contact us in confidence to find out more or book a session.
KeshetUK has over a decade of experience in supporting Jewish and non-Jewish schools in becoming places where all young people can flourish and enjoy learning. Whether you are ready for training, or just need to talk through how we can support you, we offer advice and consultancy to help you on your journey. Contact us in confidence to find out more or book a session.

Testimonials

"I would recommend that all Jewish schools and organisations work with KeshetUK to help build a brighter and more inclusive environment for the Jewish community.”
Mark Garfield
Assistant Head / Inclusion Manager

“KeshetUK continues to play an important role in educating our students to ensure that JCoSS is inclusive for those that identify at LGBT+. In addition to working directly with students, KeshetUK has trained our Kvutzah (PSHCE) team to deliver Relationships and Sex Education so that they have the knowledge, skills and confidence to educate and support our students. A big thank you from all of us at JCoSS to the KeshetUK team… we couldn’t do it without you!”
Ben Abram
Informal Jewish Educator

“KeshetUK have worked with JFS for a number of years, but this year we built on last year’s success in having KeshetUK deliver assemblies and then teach LGBTQAI+ topics within JS lessons. This is to ensure we have a co-ordinated approach between the Jewish identity of our students and any questions they may have regarding LGBTQAI+ topics.”
Geoff Peddie
Assistant Headteacher & Director of Personal Development

"Thank you so much for all of your sessions throughout my time at school, it has really made a difference. I will miss your sessions."
LGBT+ student, Y13, KSHS

“We have worked with KeshetUK in a number of capacities this year, including running assemblies on diversity/inclusion and working with our Sixth Form Kavod (‘Respect’) committee supporting them planning peer-led PSHE sessions. I am really grateful to KeshetUK for their continued professionalism, commitment and ability to adapt their work to our setting.”
Matt Kendler
Assistant Headteacher

“It was fantastic for Gateways to host KeshetUK today and give our students the chance to hear about the amazing work they’re doing in our community. Thank you to KeshetUK and Joe for giving your time, energy and passion. It’s so important that our students are educated and exposed to different voices and experiences from across the community.”
