Limmud Festival 2022

KeshetUK Sessions at Limmud Festival 2022

Just a few days to wait until Limmud Festival 2022, which starts on Friday 23 December.

If you're at Limmud Festival - we look forward to meeting you! Dalia (our Executive Director) and Sarah (our Head of Education) will be there, as will a few trustees - please do say hello!

Below are the list of sessions that we are running from KeshetUK. Please do check out the Limmud programme for the wider list of LGBT+ related sessions!

Please note: We are running two sessions for Young and Teen Limmud. The programme isn't live yet but will be added to our website when it's confirmed.

Monday 26 December

  • LGBT+ and Jewish? A discussion around what an inclusive Jewish community looks like for you, 16.10-17.10, Red 4
This session is for LGBT+ people (including: lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, asexual, intersex and more) to join us in discussing your hopes and concerns for our community. Whether you’re from the UK or elsewhere, KeshetUK wants to hear your voice about what you need to ensure you and your family are included in Jewish spaces

  • LGBT+ social space, 21.50-22.50, Orange 10
The purpose here is to create a safer space at Limmud where LGBT+ Jews (including but not limited to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, asexual, intersex, questioning and more) can come and meet each other to socialise. This will be a fun space to hang out and play games.

Tuesday 27 December

  • An introduction to trans inclusion. Dalia Fleming  ,09.10-10.10,  Red 2
Many people want to begin making their spaces more inclusive of transgender people, but are unsure how to do so, and worry about getting it wrong. In this training session, we will provide a non-judgemental space for people to ask questions, to learn about trans identities, and how to best support trans people.

  • Jewish LGBT+ people and spaces. Daniella Shaw  Olivia Davidson  Dalia Fleming  Dave Shaw  Natalie Grazin  ,13.00-14.00,  Orange 11
In this panel, we’ll share our experiences of being LGBT+ within the Jewish community/ies. We’ll discuss the progress and challenges we’ve experienced, and future opportunities. There'll be a Q&A and - as we know the panel is not representative of the entire Jewish LGBT+ community - we will have some space for people to share from the audience

  • Have your say! A discussion forum for parents and family of LGBT+ people, 16.10-17.10,  Blue 33
At KeshetUK we often receive requests to run sessions specifically for parents. We are currently creating these workshops and would love your help in designing them! Please join us to tell us what content you would like us to include, what sort of questions you need answered and what's important to you in supporting the LGBT+ people in your life
