Keshet UK's Benjamin Cohen says being gay is no longer a bar to our communal life on jewishnews.co.uk
Rainbow Jews is a pioneering oral history project showcasing the lives of Jewish Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people in the UK from the 1950s to today. It was launched in October 2012.A part of our project is to reveal our material cultural. By material culture we mean:
• Campaign leaflets and other printed materials
• Minutes/agendas/meeting papers from LGBT+ Jewish groups, or non-Jewish groups with Jewish members.
• Digital materials
• Any other memorabilia items.
Even items that may seem insignificant at first could help us to piece together the Rainbow Jews story. We are not necessarily looking to acquire these items. At the moment we would just like to take a look and possibly photograph them. We can then discuss display or deposit later, if you would like to keep these items with an archive for safekeeping. Please also refer to our Archives Booklet (downloadable via Website, or shortlink http://wp.me/P3vpxB-gQ )
If you have anything that might be relevant stored away, and are happy for us to take a peek, please contact James via firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07926612989 by 01 Dec 2013.
Make sure you have these events in your diary!
There are a handful of exciting events in the next few weeks - we hope you can make them!
Also - please note that the 2014 Keshet UK Activism day will be held on Sunday 12th January 2014, 10am-1pm in a central London location. Please email email@example.com for more information.
